You did what you were told. Why are you still waiting?
The habit I want us to question: finish learning, collect qualifications, send applications, and wait for someone to choose you.

Education and applications still matter. The gap appears when they become the entire strategy: little real-world practice, little visible evidence, and few people building with you.
Students / Before the first opportunity
“How do I prove myself before someone gives me a chance?”
In the classroom, the assignment tells you what to solve. At the first application, you must explain what you can contribute. Waiting until graduation to test that leaves less room to learn from real people.
Professionals / When the role changes
“My experience is real. Can anyone see what I can do next?”
A CV describes yesterday. A private course or unfinished project stays invisible. Fear of sharing imperfect work can keep new capability out of sight just when a transition makes it matter.
Organizations / When change needs people
“We have talent. Why is it so hard to find the right people for this problem?”
Titles, profiles, and separate community channels can leave useful knowledge scattered. People may be available without their interests, current work, or willingness to collaborate being discoverable.
The pressure is measurable

Underemployment among recent US graduates.
Q2 2026. Graduates aged 22 to 27 working in jobs that typically do not require a college degree.
Sources checked October 24, 2026. These figures describe different populations and periods. They do not establish that AI caused underemployment, or that DRC or Lana resolves it.
My diagnosis
The missing connection is between learning, being discoverable, and doing something together.
A qualification does not show every new capability. A post does not guarantee relevant attention. An introduction does not yet create collaboration. We need to connect these steps.

02 / The solution we’re working toward
Give people a meaningful way in.
Participation means more than watching or clicking. It means being able to contribute, influence what happens, and benefit from what gets created.
KnowledgePeopleOpportunitiesConnected by context
That is the problem behind Lana: making relevant people, knowledge, and opportunities easier to discover within a community.
Lana is starting with students in a closed beta. It is a tool for this work, not the whole answer.
Unlearn the habits that keep you waiting. Relearn through action. Make your work discoverable so other people can join you.

Decode
Unlearn inherited assumptions about learning, careers, and being chosen. Question the script, then choose a real problem and who it matters to.
Make it visibleName the habit to leave behind. Share a better question.

Rebuild
Relearn by taking action early. Make a small attempt, use AI thoughtfully, and document your decisions before the work feels perfect.
Make it tangibleBuild. Test. Publish what you are learning.

Contribute
Attract people through useful work. Reach them deliberately, invite a specific contribution, and turn shared interest into something you create together.
Make it reach someoneAttract. Collaborate. Create shared value.

What you learn together informs what you decode next.
Content is also a record of your work: context that people, and AI systems with access, can use to understand what you do. Distribution makes it discoverable. Collaboration gives it a shared purpose.
